2022, year of the goal

The last couple of years seem to have coasted by for me. Personal goals put to the bottom of the pile. Allowances made on work goals to accommodate the waves of cr*p that comes with working from home during a health pandemic. But as I’m sat here, organising my self-assessment on HMRC I’ve entered into a pact with my fellow freelance pals to keep each other accountable for our goals.

In February, LW Marketing completes four years of trading! <insert dance gif :-)> And the last two years, blurred by lockdown and various social distancing restrictions, have kept me particularly busy. But whilst busy is good (to an extent), it’s tricky to metricate if pre-defined goals haven’t seen set. I’ll flesh out and confirm my 2022 goals with my freelance collective of pals mentioned above, but here is where my heads at:

Personal goals

  • Create and stick to a training plan - more running, swimming, pilates, cycling

  • Finish decorating my bedroom - I moved in in March 2021 but it’s still not quite finished

  • Visit three destinations (UK or abroad) known for decent hiking

Work / client goals

  • Secure FT coverage for one particular client

  • Implement new weekly calendar with dedicated client sessions to improve workflow

  • Ensure external tech tool costs are absorbed by clients

  • Attract project work from social enterprise founders or small tech start-ups

Shoutout to Jo from Mad and Sad Club for business mentoring me over the past few weeks, it’s been invaluable.

Here’s to a productive 2022.
